What's the deal with Deepmetrics. I know MS took over but was it really such a good tool?
Well, Microsoft took over Livestats (from Deepmetrics) and this was a tool you could install on your own machine and opperated behind your firewall. I basically imported log-files from your host and didn't require a javascript code to be pasted in every page. It was very robust, tracked all visitors to you site (even downloads; couldn't track outbound links though) and didn't require me to connect to the internet. Also, it could obviously track visitor stats to intranets and didn't require a actual internet connection to the MS server.
Now I just hope MS will replace the LiveStats software with something new as it was very convenient, fast and didn't require a website or analytzer to be actually connected to the internet. Now, they've just tossed out all those user requiring those options and launched yet another online tool.
