Post How close is the tool set to DeepMetrics?
Hey Microsoft I noticed the chatter over having an installed hosted version of analytics. How is that coming and how comparable are the tools compared to DeepMetrics.

Thanks much.

Bruces, welcome to the forums.

I personally haven''t heard much about that. MS ACA will probably remain a web based hosted application (apart form the keyword plugin for excell). I remember a post by Ian Thomas on this from way back...

Here it is: http://www.liesdamnedlies.com/2008/01/w ... ou-in.html

hope this helped!

Bruces,

Could you tell me where you red about that rumour? Was Deepmetric much better, because it was an offline app?

What's the deal with Deepmetrics. I know MS took over but was it really such a good tool?

Well, Microsoft took over Livestats (from Deepmetrics) and this was a tool you could install on your own machine and opperated behind your firewall. I basically imported log-files from your host and didn't require a javascript code to be pasted in every page. It was very robust, tracked all visitors to you site (even downloads; couldn't track outbound links though) and didn't require me to connect to the internet. Also, it could obviously track visitor stats to intranets and didn't require a actual internet connection to the MS server.

Now I just hope MS will replace the LiveStats software with something new as it was very convenient, fast and didn't require a website or analytzer to be actually connected to the internet. Now, they've just tossed out all those user requiring those options and launched yet another online tool.
