Awestats is a rather complete package but it lacks the detail and power Google and Microsoft offer in their packages. Also, in the time of CPC advertising Awestats has fallen behind. In most backend hosting packages you get this tool for free thoguh and I believe most beginning website owners have a complete statistics overview from this package.

Awestat is indeed great for the beginners. I've been using it for years bu have MS and Google running on most of my sites now. I do use it once in a while though, because with my hostgator accounts it runs realtime, without delay.

Awestats is all I've got for now.
It does the job and gives me all the information. There is however no option to manage my reports.

I love the speed of Awstats. Graphs are kinda simplified though and control really, really sucks.. Is there any word on them improving their product?

What is different in AWstats that MS Analytics doesn't have?
